The project is currently owned by Barki Tojik Open Stock Holding Power.
Nurek is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 10,500 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 275m. Nurek underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2009-12; 2019- 2023; 2024-2028. The project generated 11,200 GWh of electricity.
