Ohgimachi-Kawasaki City Biomass Power Plant is a 49MW biopower project. It is located in Kanagawa, Japan. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in November 2015.

Description

The project is developed and owned by Showa Shell Sekiyu.

The project generates 300GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 83,000 households. The project cost is $161m.

Agricultural by-product and wood by-product are used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in November 2015.

Contractors Involved

JFE Engineering was selected to render EPC services for the biopower project.

JFE Engineering supplied steam boiler for the project. The boiler installed at the site has a capacity of 180TPH. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 541°C. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 10bar.
