Orpheus is a 160MW hydro power project. It is located on Vacha river/basin in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 1975.

Description

The project is currently owned by Natsionalna Elektricheska Kompania.

Orpheus is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 226.12 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 65.8m. Orpheus underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2004-2006. The project generated 154 GWh of electricity.

Contractors Involved
