The project is a part of German grid operators plan to reduce redispatch costs. German power grid operators plan to trial massive batteries as grid boosters at vulnerable locations to reduce redispatch costs and defer new cable investment. TenneT Holding BV, one of four German transmission system operators, is planning a 100 MW battery at Ottenhofen.
