The Pembroke North Power Station – Battery Energy Storage System is a 10,000kW energy storage project located in Pembroke, Pembroke, Bermuda.

The project was announced in 2018 and will be commissioned in 2020.


The Pembroke North Power Station – Battery Energy Storage System is owned by Bermuda Electric Light (100%), a subsidiary of Ascendant Group .

The North Power Station and BESS are an integral part of BELCO’s Capital Plan and will be built on BELCO’s existing Pembroke facility. BELCO will replace 9 generators (out of 17) that will be retired between now and 2020, as they are well beyond their useful service lives.
