Asia-Pacific power industry contracts in November 2021: China leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, China led the activity in November 2021 with 44 contracts and a share of 43.1%, down 1.3% over the previous month and up 47% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by India with 17 contracts and a share of 16.7% and Japan with seven contracts and a share of 6.9% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, China held the top spot with 30 contracts, followed by India with 19 and Australia with nine contracts.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in November 2021
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 60 contracts and a 65.2% share, followed by wind with 11 contracts and a 12% share and thermal with seven contracts and a 7.6% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Asia-Pacific as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in November 2021, with 38 contracts, followed by Electricity Procurement (29) and Generation Equipment (26).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 34 contracts and a 33.3% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: 28 contracts and a 27.5% share
- Supply & Erection: 24 contracts and a 23.5% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: nine contracts and an 8.8% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: seven contracts and a 6.9% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 1,100MW from three contracts
- Punjab State Power (India), Huadian Yunnan Power Generation (China) and Yugan County Guoneng New Energy (China): 100MW from one contract
- SJVN (India): 75MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- China Energy Engineering Group Planning and Engineering (China): 886.19MW from five contracts
- Azure Power (India): 767MW from two contracts
- Adani Green Energy (India): 333MW capacity from one contract.
