Onshore was the top category in wind technology in terms of number of contracts for the month, accounting for 63 contracts and an 80.8% share, followed by Offshore with 13 contracts and a 16.7% share. Onshore Repowered stood in third place with two contracts and a 2.6% share.

Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, wind held the second position in terms of number of contracts during December 2019 with a 39.2% share.
The proportion of contracts by category in the Wind technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 38 contracts and a 48.7% share
- Project Implementation: 21 contracts and a 26.9% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: ten contracts and a 12.8% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and a 6.4% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: four contracts and a 5.1% share.
Europe leads wind contracts activity in December 2019
Comparing contracts activity in wind technology in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 38 contracts and a share of 48.7% during December 2019, followed by North America with 16 contracts and a 20.5% share and Asia-Pacific with 15 contracts and a 19.2% share.
In fourth place was South and Central America with eight contracts and a 10.3% share and in fifth place was Middle East and Africa with one contract and a 1.3% share.

- Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (United States): 804MW from one contract
- Egyptian Electricity Transmission (Egypt): 500MW from one contract
- Continuum Wind Energy (India): 250MW capacity from one contract.

- Vineyard Wind (United States): 804MW from one contract
- AMEA Power (United Arab Emirates): 500MW from one contract
