Europe power industry contracts in Q3 2022: The UK leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, the UK led the activity in Q3 2022 with 57 contracts and a share of 50.9%, up 34.5% over the previous quarter and up 21% when compared with the last four-quarter average, followed by Germany with 15 contracts and a share of 13.4% and Denmark with five contracts and a share of 4.5% during the quarter.
Looking at the last four-quarter average, Spain held the top spot with 50 contracts, followed by the UK with 47 and Germany with 35 contracts.

Wind is top technology area for contracts in Q3 2022
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, wind accounted for the largest proportion with 54 contracts and a 50% share, followed by solar with 33 contracts and a 30.6% share and nuclear with ten contracts and a 9.3% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, Electricity Procurement was the most popular segment in Europe power contracts activity during Q3 2022, with 73 contracts, followed by Power Plant (21) and Generation Equipment (17).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Power Purchase Agreement: 73 contracts and a 65.2% share
- Supply & Erection: 21 contracts and an 18.8% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: 11 contracts and a 9.8% share
- Project Implementation: four contracts and a 3.6% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three contracts and a 2.7% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- FORTE Vannkraft (Norway): 13,600MW from two contracts
- Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (United Kingdom): 9,213.6MW from 43 contracts
- EnBW Energy Solutions (Germany): 900MW capacity from one contract.

- Spetals Verk (Norway): 13,600MW from two contracts
- Orsted (Denmark): 2,852MW from one contract
