Europe power industry contracts in September 2021: Russia leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, Russia led the activity in September 2021 with 62 contracts and a share of 38.8%, up 34.5% over the previous month and up 1967% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Germany with 19 contracts and a share of 11.9% and the UK with 12 contracts and a share of 7.5% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, France held the top spot with 32 contracts, followed by the UK with 23 and Spain with 19 contracts.

Wind is top technology area for contracts in September 2021
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, wind accounted for the largest proportion with 81 contracts and a 57.4% share, followed by solar with 42 contracts and a 29.8% share and thermal with six contracts and a 4.3% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in September 2021, with 88 contracts, followed by Generation Equipment (31) and T&D Project (18).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 92 contracts and a 57.5% share
- Supply & Erection: 35 contracts and a 21.9% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: 15 contracts and a 9.4% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: nine contracts and a 5.6% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: eight contracts and a 5% share
- Electricity Supply: one contract and a 0.6% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- AO ATC (Russia): 2,722.08MW from 58 contracts
- Bundesnetzagentur (Germany): 985MW from five contracts
- KlimaVest: 200MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- Fortum-Rusnano Wind Investment Fund (Russia): 1,390.5MW from 31 contracts
- Unigreen Power (Russia): 545MW from ten contracts
- VetroOGK-2 (Russia): 460.74MW capacity from six contracts.
