Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, solar held the top position in terms of number of contracts during July 2020 with a 36.4% share.

The proportion of contracts by category in the Solar technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 38 contracts and a 44.2% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: 28 contracts and a 32.6% share
  3. Supply & Erection: 14 contracts and a 16.3% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two contracts and a 2.3% share
  5. Consulting & Similar Services: two contracts and a 2.3% share
  6. Electricity Supply: two contracts and a 2.3% share.

North America leads solar contracts activity in July 2020

Comparing contracts activity in solar technology in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position with 26 contracts and a share of 30.2% during July 2020, followed by Europe with 23 contracts and a 26.7% share and Asia-Pacific with 21 contracts and a 24.4% share.

The top issuers of contracts in Solar technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 4,001.95MW from two contracts
  2. Emirates Water and Electricity (United Arab Emirates): 2,000MW from one contract
