Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, solar held the top position in terms of number of contracts during May 2021 with a 46.9% share.

The proportion of contracts by category in the Solar technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 41 contracts and a 39% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: 37 contracts and a 35.2% share
  3. Supply & Erection: 20 contracts and a 19% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three contracts and a 2.9% share
  5. Consulting & Similar Services: two contracts and a 1.9% share
  6. Electricity Supply: two contracts and a 1.9% share.

Asia-Pacific leads solar contracts activity in May 2021

Comparing contracts activity in solar technology in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 32 contracts and a share of 30.5% during May 2021, followed by Europe with 29 contracts and a 27.6% share and North America with 22 contracts and a 21% share.

In fourth place was South and Central America with 12 contracts and an 11.4% share and in fifth place was Middle East and Africa with ten contracts and a 9.5% share.
