North America power industry contracts in May 2022: The US leads activity

Looking at contracts by country, the US led the activity in May 2022 with 31 contracts and a share of 88.6%, up 5.6% over the previous month and down 43% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by with two contracts and a share of 5.7% and Canada with two contracts and a share of 5.7% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, the US held the top spot with 54 contracts, followed by Canada with five and Mexico with one contract.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in May 2022

Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 22 contracts and a 71% share, followed by wind with seven contracts and a 22.6% share and nuclear with one contract and a 3.2% share.

Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in North America as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in May 2022, with 13 contracts, followed by Electricity Procurement (9) and Energy Storage (9).
