North America power industry contracts in November 2021: The US leads activity

Looking at contracts by country, the US led the activity in November 2021 with 51 contracts and a share of 86.4%, down 8.6% over the previous month and down 16% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Canada with six contracts and a share of 10.2% and Mexico with two contracts and a share of 3.4% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, the US held the top spot with 61 contracts, followed by Canada with four and Mexico with one contract.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in November 2021

Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 35 contracts and a 64.8% share, followed by wind with 13 contracts and a 24.1% share and thermal with three contracts and a 5.6% share.

Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in North America as tracked by GlobalData, Electricity Procurement was the most popular segment in November 2021, with 18 contracts, followed by Generation Equipment (15) and Power Plant (12).
