Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, wind held the top position in terms of number of contracts during November 2019 with a 36.6% share.

The proportion of contracts by category in the Wind technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  2. Project Implementation: 25 contracts and a 29.1% share
  3. Power Purchase Agreement: 11 contracts and a 12.8% share

Europe leads wind contracts activity in November 2019

Comparing contracts activity in wind technology in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 29 contracts and a share of 33.7% during November 2019, followed by Asia-Pacific with 27 contracts and a 31.4% share and North America with 17 contracts and a 19.8% share.

In fourth place was South and Central America with ten contracts and an 11.6% share and in fifth place was Middle East and Africa with three contracts and a 3.5% share.

The top issuers of contracts in Wind technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. China Huaneng Group (China): 715MW from one contract
  2. Alternative Energy Development Board, Pakistan (Pakistan): 560MW from 11 contracts
  3. Mainstream Renewable Power Chile (Chile): 426MW capacity from three contracts.
