Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, biopower held the fifth position in terms of number of contracts during Q2 2019 with a 4.7% share.
The proportion of contracts by category in the Biopower technology tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 15 contracts and a 46.9% share
- Supply & Erection: 13 contracts and a 40.6% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: three contracts and a 9.4% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 3.1% share.
Asia-Pacific leads biopower contracts activity in Q2 2019
Comparing contracts activity in biopower technology in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 12 contracts and a share of 37.5% during Q2 2019, followed by South and Central America with 11 contracts and a 34.4% share and Europe with seven contracts and a 21.9% share.
In fourth place was North America with two contracts and a 6.3% share.
