Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, hydro held the fifth position in terms of number of contracts during Q3 2019 with a 4% share.

The proportion of contracts by category in the Hydro technology tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 11 contracts and a 40.7% share
  2. Supply & Erection: eight contracts and a 29.6% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and an 18.5% share
  4. Power Purchase Agreement: two contracts and a 7.4% share
  5. Electricity Supply: one contract and a 3.7% share.

South and Central America leads hydro contracts activity in Q3 2019

Comparing contracts activity in hydro technology in different regions of the globe, South and Central America held the top position with eight contracts and a share of 29.6% during Q3 2019, followed by Asia-Pacific with seven contracts and a 25.9% share and Europe with six contracts and a 22.2% share.
