Global power industry contracts in Q3 2020: Nuclear technology up 28%

Nuclear technology contracts activity in Q3 2020 saw 23 contracts announced, marking a rise of 28% over the last four-quarter average of 18, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, nuclear held the sixth position in terms of number of contracts during Q3 2020 with a 2.4% share.

The proportion of contracts by category in the Nuclear technology tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: nine contracts and a 39.1% share
  2. Supply & Erection: seven contracts and a 30.4% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: three contracts and a 13% share
  4. Project Implementation: three contracts and a 13% share
  5. Others: one contract and a 4.3% share.

Europe leads nuclear contracts activity in Q3 2020

Comparing contracts activity in nuclear technology in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 11 contracts and a share of 47.8% during Q3 2020, followed by North America with eight contracts and a 34.8% share and Asia-Pacific with four contracts and a 17.4% share.
