Looking at global power tenders activity divided by the type of technology, solar held the second position in terms of number of tenders during April 2020 with a 23.8% share.

The proportion of tenders by category in the Solar technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 42 tenders and a 73.7% share
  2. Supply & Erection: eight tenders and a 14% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five tenders and an 8.8% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 3.5% share.

Asia-Pacific leads solar tenders activity in April 2020

Comparing tenders activity in solar technology in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 38 tenders and a share of 66.7% during April 2020, followed by North America with nine tenders and a 15.8% share and Europe with seven tenders and a 12.3% share.

In fourth place was Middle East and Africa with three tenders and a 5.3% share.

Solar technology tenders in April 2020: Top companies by capacity

The top issuers of tenders in Solar technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 2,515MW from two tenders
  2. Renewable Energy Project Development Office (Saudi Arabia): 1,000MW from one tender
  3. Iliako Velos Ena and PPC Renewables (Greece): 200MW capacity from one tender.
