Asia-Pacific power industry tenders in April 2022: The Philippines leads activity

Looking at tenders by country, the Philippines led the activity in April 2022 with 39 tenders and a share of 48.8%, a flat growth over the previous month and up 70% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Pakistan with 19 tenders and a share of 23.8% and Bangladesh with nine tenders and a share of 11.3% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, Pakistan held the top spot with 36 tenders, followed by the Philippines with 23 and India with 18 tenders.

Thermal is top technology area for tenders in April 2022

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, thermal accounted for the largest proportion with 26 tenders and a 96.3% share, followed by solar with one tender and a 3.7% share.

Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Asia-Pacific as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in April 2022, with 48 tenders, followed by Generation Equipment (25) and Smart Grid (5).

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 69 tenders and an 86.3% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: eight tenders and a 10% share
  3. Project Implementation: three tenders and a 3.8% share.
