Asia-Pacific power industry tenders in August 2021: Pakistan leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Pakistan led the activity in August 2021 with 45 tenders and a share of 27.8%, up 5.1% over the previous month and up 29% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by the Philippines with 36 tenders and a share of 22.2% and India with 22 tenders and a share of 13.6% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, India held the top spot with 111 tenders, followed by Pakistan with 35 and the Philippines with 23 tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in August 2021

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 34 tenders and a 47.2% share, followed by thermal with 31 tenders and a 43.1% share and hydro with five tenders and a 6.9% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Asia-Pacific as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in August 2021, with 65 tenders, followed by Power Plant (34) and Generation Equipment (32).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 89 tenders and a 54.9% share
- Project Implementation: 47 tenders and a 29% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 18 tenders and an 11.1% share

- Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution (India): 1,287MW from three tenders
- NHPC (India): 700MW capacity from three tenders.
