Asia-Pacific power industry tenders in December 2021: Pakistan leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Pakistan led the activity in December 2021 with 57 tenders and a share of 35.4%, up 17.2% over the previous month and up 54% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Bangladesh with 32 tenders and a share of 19.9% and the Philippines with 24 tenders and a share of 14.9% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, India held the top spot with 45 tenders, followed by Pakistan with 37 and the Philippines with 23 tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in December 2021
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 30 tenders and a 48.4% share, followed by thermal with 23 tenders and a 37.1% share and hydro with five tenders and an 8.1% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Asia-Pacific as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in December 2021, with 72 tenders, followed by Power Plant (33) and Generation Equipment (24).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 102 tenders and a 63.4% share
- Project Implementation: 45 tenders and a 28% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: nine tenders and a 5.6% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 1.2% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: two tenders and a 1.2% share
- Electricity Supply: one tender and a 0.6% share.

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Greenko MP01 IREP Private: 1,440MW from one tender
- Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution (India): 1,142MW from three tenders
- Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan (Japan): 356MW capacity from one tender.
