Asia-Pacific power industry tenders in January 2022: Pakistan leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Pakistan led the activity in January 2022 with 36 tenders and a share of 42.4%, up 6.9% over the previous month and down 8% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Sri Lanka with 11 tenders and a share of 12.9% and Bangladesh with ten tenders and a share of 11.8% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, Pakistan held the top spot with 39 tenders, followed by India with 31 and the Philippines with 25 tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in January 2022
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 22 tenders and a 71% share, followed by thermal with six tenders and a 19.4% share and wind with one tender and a 3.2% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Asia-Pacific as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in January 2022, with 43 tenders, followed by Power Plant (19) and T&D Project (9).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 53 tenders and a 62.4% share
- Project Implementation: 26 tenders and a 30.6% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: four tenders and a 4.7% share
- Electricity Supply: two tenders and a 2.4% share.

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

- Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (India) and NTPC Renewable Energy (India): 500MW from one tender
- Germany Trade And Invest (Germany): 17.38MW capacity from one tender.
