Power industry tenders in Europe for September 2021 down 15%

Europe power industry tenders activity in September 2021 saw 96 tenders announced, marking a drop of 15% over the last 12-month average of 113, according to GlobalData’s power database.

Europe power industry tenders in September 2021: Poland leads activity

Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in September 2021 with 33 tenders and a share of 34.4%, up 6.4% over the previous month and up 18% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by the UK with eight tenders and a share of 8.3% and France with seven tenders and a share of 7.3% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, Poland held the top spot with 28 tenders, followed by France with 13 and Germany with ten tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in September 2021

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 21 tenders and a 52.5% share, followed by thermal with 11 tenders and a 27.5% share and wind with three tenders and a 7.5% share.

Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Project was the most popular segment in September 2021, with 33 tenders, followed by Power Plant (23) and T&D Equipment (20).

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 47 tenders and a 49% share
  2. Supply & Erection: 37 tenders and a 38.5% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five tenders and a 5.2% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: five tenders and a 5.2% share
  5. Electricity Supply: one tender and a 1% share
  6. Others: one tender and a 1% share.

Power tenders in September 2021: Top companies by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Ministere de l’Energie et de l’Amenagement du territoire: 55MW from one tender
  2. Waterschap Hoogheemraadschap De Stichtse Rijnlanden: 0.5MW from one tender
  3. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality: 0.45MW capacity from one tender.
