Middle East and Africa power industry tenders in March 2022: South Africa leads activity

 

Looking at tenders by country, South Africa led the activity in March 2022 with 22 tenders and a share of 53.7%, up 8.2% over the previous month and down 73% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Mozambique with three tenders and a share of 7.3% and Central African Republic with three tenders and a share of 7.3% during the month.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in March 2022

 

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with five tenders and a 71.4% share, followed by thermal with one tender and a 14.3% share and hydro with one tender and a 14.3% share.

Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Middle East and Africa as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in March 2022, with 23 tenders, followed by T&D Project (6) and Power Plant (6).

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 29 tenders and a 70.7% share
  2. Project Implementation: eight tenders and a 19.5% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: four tenders and a 9.8% share.

The top issuer of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Middle East and Africa was:Germany Trade And Invest (Germany) with 16.9MW from two tenders.
