Looking at global power tenders activity divided by the type of technology, solar held the second position in terms of number of tenders during Q4 2019 with a 29.4% share.

The proportion of tenders by category in the Solar technology tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  2. Supply & Erection: 29 tenders and a 10.7% share

Asia-Pacific leads solar tenders activity in Q4 2019

Comparing tenders activity in solar technology in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 191 tenders and a share of 70.2% during Q4 2019, followed by Europe with 36 tenders and a 13.2% share and Middle East and Africa with 24 tenders and an 8.8% share.

The top issuers of tenders in Solar technology for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 3,000MW from four tenders
  2. NTPC (India): 2,614.16MW from ten tenders
  3. Northern Indiana Public Service (United States): 2,300MW capacity from one tender.
