Oil was the top category in thermal technology in terms of number of tenders for the month, accounting for 77 tenders and a 77.8% share, followed by Coal with 12 tenders and a 12.1% share. Gas stood in third place with ten tenders and a 10.1% share.

Looking at global power tenders activity divided by the type of technology, thermal held the top position in terms of number of tenders during September 2019 with a 48.6% share.
The proportion of tenders by category in the Thermal technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 72 tenders and a 70.6% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 26 tenders and a 25.5% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 2% share
- Project Implementation: two tenders and a 2% share.
Asia-Pacific leads thermal tenders activity in September 2019
Comparing tenders activity in thermal technology in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 69 tenders and a share of 67.6% during September 2019, followed by Middle East and Africa with 17 tenders and a 16.7% share and Europe with ten tenders and a 9.8% share.
In fourth place was North America with six tenders and a 5.9% share.
