Looking at tenders by country, Bolivia led the activity in July 2021 with 19 tenders and a share of 65.5%, up 4.2% over the previous month and up 90% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Uruguay with four tenders and a share of 13.8% and Guyana with two tenders and a share of 6.9% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, Bolivia held the top spot with ten tenders, followed by Trinidad and Tobago with three and Uruguay with three tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in July 2021

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with two tenders and a 50% share, followed by wind with one tender and a 25% share and hydro with one tender and a 25% share.

Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in South and Central America as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in July 2021, with 17 tenders, followed by T&D Project (6) and Smart Grid (4).

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  2. Project Implementation: seven tenders and a 24.1% share
