South and Central America power industry tenders in Q3 2021: Bolivia leads activity

Looking at tenders by country, Bolivia led the activity in Q3 2021 with 42 tenders and a share of 45.2%, up 5.2% over the previous quarter and up 35% when compared with the last four-quarter average, followed by Uruguay with 17 tenders and a share of 18.3% and Paraguay with eight tenders and a share of 8.6% during the quarter.

Looking at the last four-quarter average, Bolivia held the top spot with 31 tenders, followed by Trinidad and Tobago with ten and Uruguay with ten tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in Q3 2021

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 14 tenders and a 45.2% share, followed by hydro with five tenders and a 16.1% share and wind with five tenders and a 16.1% share.

Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in South and Central America power tenders activity during Q3 2021, with 42 tenders, followed by T&D Project (25) and Power Plant (13).
