Description

The project was developed by AES Jordan PSC, Mitsui, Nebras Power QPSC and Solar Ventures. Mitsui, The AES and Nebras Power QPSC are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 36% and 24% respectively.

Al Manakher Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project.

The electricitiy generated from the plant has offsetted 55,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project got commissioned in September 2019.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to National Electric Power under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The contracted capacity is 40MW.

Contractors involved

Wartsila was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

About AES Jordan PSC

AES Jordan PSC (AES Jordan) also known as Amman East Power Project is the first greenfield integrated power project (IPP) in Jordan. AES Jordan engages in the generation of electricity through a single power generation plant near Amman city. The power plant has a total installed generation capacity of 370 megawatt (MW).
