Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Sudanese Thermal Power Generating.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be heavy fuel oil/light diesel oil. In case of shortage of heavy fuel oil/light diesel oil the plant will run on Natural Gas.
Albagair Combined Cycle Power Plant (Albagair Combined Cycle Power Plant Phase I) consists of 2 gas turbines with 175MW nameplate capacity.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2024. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2025.
