Description

The project was developed by ALTEN Hardap and Sterling and Wilson. Alten Energias Renovables and NamPower are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 19% respectively.

Alten Renewable Hardap-Mariental Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 100 hectares.

The project generates 121GWh electricity thereby offsetting 33,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project got commissioned in October 2018.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to NamPower under a power purchase agreement with a contracted capacity is 37MW.

Contractors involved

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

Astroenergy was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 140,000 modules each with 325W of nameplate capacity.

The inverters were procured from Gamesa Electric for the project.

The project is utilising single axis trackers supplied by Soltec Energias Renovables.

Alten Energias Renovables is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project.
