The project was developed by Eneco Belgie and is currently owned by ArcelorMittal South Africa.

ArcelorMittal Ghent Solar Farm is a roof-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 100,000 square meters.

The project generates 10,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 2,900 households, offsetting 4,600t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Ecorus was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

LONGi Solar Technology was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 27,104 modules at the site.
