Description
It is a Internal Combustion power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is heavy fuel oil. In case of shortage of heavy fuel oil the plant can also run on Light Fuel Oil.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Kurdistan's Ministry of Electricity under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.
Contractors involved
Wartsila was selected as the engine supplier for the Oil fired project. The company provided 13 units of 18V38B engines, each with 11MW nameplate capacity.
