The project was developed by Cemig Geracao e Transmissao, Construtora Norberto Odebrecht, Engevix Engenharia e Projetos, Furnas Centrais Eletricas, Neoenergia and Voith Hydro Holding. The project is currently owned by Neoenergia with a stake of 51%.

Baguari is a reservoir based project.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2007 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2009.

Contractors involved

Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of bulb turbines, each with 35.9MW nameplate capacity.

Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation supplied 4 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 39.04 MVA.
