Baira Siul is a run-of-river with pondage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 3.75 million cubic meter. The net head of the project is 238.1m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 3 in number. The penstock length is 476m. The penstock diameter is 2.75m. Baira Siul (Baira Siul Unit 1) underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2018-2020.Baira Siul (Baira Siul Unit 2) underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2018-2019.Baira Siul (Baira Siul Unit 3) underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2021. The project generated 779.28 GWh of electricity.
