Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Qaiwan Group. The company has a stake of 100%.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant will run on Light Fuel Fuel.
Development status

Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Kurdistan's Ministry of Electricity under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.

Enka Power Systems is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the Bazian Combined Cycle Power Plant (Bazian Combined Cycle Power Plant Phase I ).
Bazian Combined Cycle Power Plant (Bazian Combined Cycle Power Plant Phase I ) will be equipped with GE Vernova 9E-3 gas turbines. The phase consists of 4 gas turbines with 125MW nameplate capacity.
Bazian Combined Cycle Power Plant (Bazian Combined Cycle Power Plant Phase II) will be equipped with GE Vernova steam turbine. The phase consists of 1 steam turbine with 250MW nameplate capacity.
GE Vernova is expected to be the supplier of electric generator for the Bazian Combined Cycle Power Plant (Bazian Combined Cycle Power Plant Phase I ).
Qaiwan Group is expected to perform operations and maintenance for thermal power project.
