Description

The project was developed by Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm. SSE Renewables Holdings (UK), Red Rock Power, Equitix and The Renewables Infrastructure Group are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 25%, 17.5% and 17.5% respectively.

The wind turbines in the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm Project I are installed on fixed foundations. An array of jacket foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm Project II are installed on fixed foundations. An array of jacket foundations feature in the phase.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 450,000 households.

Development status

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2017 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in November 2018.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Danske Commodities under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years. The contracted capacity is 294MW.

Contractors involved

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The project consists of 84 units of SWT-7.0-154 turbines, each with 7MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 25 years.

CS Wind UK has supplied towers for the wind power project.
