Description

The project is being developed by Electricidade de Mocambique EP, Kibo Energy and Termoelectrica de Benga. Kibo Energy and Termoelectrica de Benga are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 65% and 35% respectively.

It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The fuel will be procured from Vale S.A.

The project cost is expected to be around $568.05m.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2025. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Electricidade de Mocambique EP under a power purchase agreement. The offtake capacity is expected to be 150MW.
