Description
The project was developed by Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum and Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II. BKW Energie, EWE, Ewz Offshore Borkum, Stadtwerke Bochum, Trianel and Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum are currently owning the project.
The wind turbines in the Borkum West II Phase I are installed on fixed foundations. An array of tripod foundations feature in the phase.
The wind turbines in the Borkum West II Phase IIA are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.
The wind turbines in the Borkum West II Phase IIB are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.
The electricitiy generated from the plant has offsetted 700,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Borkum West II (Borkum West II Phase I) is equipped with Areva Wind M5000-116 turbines. The phase consists of 40 turbines with 5MW nameplate capacity.
Borkum West II (Borkum West II Phase IIA) is equipped with Senvion 6.2M152 turbines. The phase consists of 16 turbines with 6.33MW nameplate capacity.
Borkum West II (Borkum West II Phase IIB) is equipped with Senvion 6.2M152 turbines. The phase consists of 16 turbines with 6.33MW nameplate capacity.
