The project is being developed by Interstate Power and Light and Wind Capital Group. The project is currently owned by Interstate Power and Light with a stake of 100%.

The power generated from the Buffalo Creek (Whispering Willows) (Buffalo Creek (Whispering Willows) Phase IIA) will be sold to Interstate Power and Light under a power purchase agreement, starting from 2020.

Contractors involved

RMT Technologies is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the Buffalo Creek (Whispering Willows) (Buffalo Creek (Whispering Willows) Phase I).

Buffalo Creek (Whispering Willows) (Buffalo Creek (Whispering Willows) Phase I) will be equipped with Vestas Wind Systems V82-1.65 MW turbines. The phase consists of 121 turbines with 1.65MW nameplate capacity.

Buffalo Creek (Whispering Willows) (Buffalo Creek (Whispering Willows) Phase IIA) will be equipped with GE Renewable Energy turbines. The phase consists 81 turbines.

Vestas Wind Systems is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the Buffalo Creek (Whispering Willows) (Buffalo Creek (Whispering Willows) Phase I). The O&M tenure will likely be commencing from the year 2009.
