Description

The project was developed by Emerging Power Uganda and Tryba Energy. The project is currently owned by Tryba Energy.

Bufulubi Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 100 acres.

The project generates 20,592MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 30,000 households. The project cost is $11m.

The project construction commenced in 2018 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in July 2019.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Uganda Electricity Transmission under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $0.11kWh for a period of 20 years. The contracted capacity is 10MW.

Metka EGN was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

Canadian Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company supplied modules with rated capacity of 325W.
