Description

The project is being developed by West African Energy. West African Energy and Senegal National Electricity Agency are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 85% and 15% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant will run on Naphtha Gas.

The project cost is expected to be around $395.75m.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2023.

The power generated from the project will be sold to Senegal National Electricity Agency under a power purchase agreement.
