Description

The project is being developed by Independent Power and is currently owned by Central Illapa with a stake of 100%.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant that will be used for Peakload. The fuel will be procured from GNL Mejillones Regasification Terminal.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2023. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Sistema Interconectado del Norte Grande under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors involved

Central Illapa (Mejillones) Power Plant (Central Illapa (Mejillones) Power Plant Phase I (Gas Turbine)) will be equipped with Siemens Energy 701DU gas turbines. The phase consists of 2 gas turbines with 128MW nameplate capacity.
