The project was developed by PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia. Electric Power Development, PT Adaro Power and Itochu are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 34%, 34% and 32% respectively.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The fuel is procured from PT Adaro Energy Tbk,PT Kaltim Prima Coal.
The project cost is $4,200m.
The project construction commenced in 2016 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in August 2022.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to PT PLN (Persero) under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.
Mitsubishi Power and Sumitomo were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the coal fired power project.
PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia is the O&M contractor for thermal power project.
