Description

The project was developed by Empresa Electrica Cochrane. The AES, DL Energy and Others are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 57%, 40% and 3% respectively.

It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is bituminous coal. In case of shortage of bituminous coal the plant can also run on Sub-bituminous Coal.

Development status

The project got commissioned in July 2016.

Sierra Gorda SCM and Sistema Interconectado del Norte Grande are the power offtakers from the project.

POSCO Engineering & Construction was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the coal fired power project.
