Description
The project is being developed by Gas Natural Atlantico S. de R.L and is currently owned by The AES with a stake of 100%.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be liquefied natural gas. In case of shortage of liquefied natural gas the plant will run on Diesel.
Development status
Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in August 2018.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the Costa Norte LNG Power Plant (Costa Norte LNG Power Plant I) will be sold to Empresa de Transmision Electrica under a power purchase agreement for a period of 10 years.
