Desert Quartzite Solar PV Park is a 480MW solar PV power project. It is planned in California, the US. According to GlobalData, who tracks and profiles over 170,000 power plants worldwide, the project is currently at the permitting stage. It will be developed in a single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2023 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in December 2024. Buy the profile here.
Description
The project is being developed by Desert Quartzite and is currently owned by EDF Renewables North America with a stake of 100%.
Desert Quartzite Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 3,000 acres.
The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 120,000 households, to offset 669,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is expected to be around $1,000m.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2023. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by December 2024.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Clean Power Alliance under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years, starting from 2024.
Contractors involved
The solar PV modules for the project will be supplied by Canadian Solar and First Solar.
The inverters are expected to be procured from SMA Solar Technology for the project.
The project will utilise horizontal single axis tracker that are likely to be supplied by NEXTracker.
