Description
The project generates 113.2GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 30,000 households, offsetting 37,282t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
The process of combustion has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Olive waste which is a kind of agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Amec Foster Wheeler Energia and GHESA Ingenieria y Tecnologia were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the biopower project.
Thermodyn was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company provided 1 unit of Condensing Turbine 6.8 MC8 turbine with 16MW nameplate capacity.
Amec Foster Wheeler Energia supplied steam boiler for the project. The boiler installed at the site has a capacity of 65.8TPH. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 450°C. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 60bar.
Duro Felguera, Enel and Ingeteam Corporacion were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
