Description

The project is developed and owned by Pampa Energia and YPF. The owners have 50% stake in the project respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Diesel.

Development status

The project got commissioned in April 2012.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant (Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant Phase I) is sold to Cammesa under a power purchase agreement for a period of 13 years, starting from 2009.

The power generated from the Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant (Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant Phase II) is sold to Cammesa under a power purchase agreement for a period of 10 years.

Isolux Ingenieria was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant (Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant Phase II) project. Tecna Estudios y Proyectos de Ingenieria was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant (Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant Phase I) project.

Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant (Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant Phase I) is equipped with Siemens Energy SGT5-4000F gas turbines. The phase consists of 2 gas turbines with 280MW nameplate capacity.

Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant (Ensenada De Barragan Power Plant Phase II) is equipped with Siemens Energy SST-5000 steam turbine. The phase consists of 1 steam turbine with 280MW nameplate capacity.
