Description

The project was developed by Total Eren. Total Eren and Africa Energy Management Platform (AEMP) are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 90% and 10% respectively.

Essakane Mine Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 22 hectares.

The project generates 25,000MWh electricity thereby offsetting 18,500t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project got commissioned in March 2018.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Iamgold under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years. The contracted capacity is 15MW.

Contractors involved

Wartsila was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

First Solar Development was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 128,000 modules at the site.

Wartsila is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2018, for a period of 7 years.
